Refer to SL Endodontics

Endodontic referrals to SL Endodontics are accepted for the agreed assessment and treatment. Following treatment, we provide a clinical report and return the patient to their referring dentist for definitive restoration and ongoing care. If additional treatment needs are identified, we discuss these with the referring dentist and patient before arranging any further care. We do not actively solicit referred patients for general dental care.

Find answers to common questions

Can I claim tax relief on root canal treatment?

Yes. In Ireland, root canal treatment qualifies for 20% tax relief under the Med 2 scheme. We provide the form you need to claim back part of the cost.

Will root canal treatment be painful?

With modern techniques, root canal treatment is usually no more uncomfortable than having a filling. Local anaesthetic is always used so the procedure is as painless as possible.

How much will treatment cost?

You receive a clear written estimate before treatment begins, and we can help you understand what your dental insurance may cover.

Why see a dentist whose practice is limited to endodontics?

All dentists are trained in root canal treatment. Dr Sameer Lakho holds an MSc in Endodontics, limits his practice to endodontics, and uses an operating microscope, digital imaging and ultrasonics every day, which helps with complex anatomy, retreatment and surgery.

Do I need a referral?

Many patients are referred by their dentist, but you can also contact us directly. Referred patients return to their own dentist for their final filling or crown and ongoing care.

Where do you see patients?

At Leeson Dental Clinic, 91 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin 4; in Mullingar on Wednesdays and Fridays; and at McMahon Dental, Blackrock, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
